FAQ

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. On your iPhone, go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, find Distill, and tap it to cancel or change your plan. You can also manage subscriptions directly in the App Store. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

I was charged but the app isn't unlocked — what do I do?

First, make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID that was used to purchase. Open the app, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. If the issue persists, email us with your Apple ID (email address only, never your password) and a screenshot of your receipt.

How do I request a refund?

All purchases go through Apple and can only be refunded by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, find your Distill purchase, and submit a refund request. We have no ability to issue refunds directly.

I hit the daily limit — when does it reset?

Distill allows up to 10 article distillations and 15 chat messages per day. Limits reset at midnight in your local time zone. Most users won't encounter them under normal use.

An article isn't saving or loading correctly.

This usually happens when the publisher's website blocks automated fetching or when the page requires JavaScript to load its content. Try these steps:

The paywall sign-in isn't working for a specific publisher.

The paywall sign-in feature opens the publisher's own website inside an in-app browser and relies on the publisher accepting the sign-in normally. A few things to check:

If none of those help, email us with the publisher name and we'll look into it.

How do I delete my data?

Your library is stored entirely on your device. To delete everything — articles, distillations, chat history, and any saved publisher sign-ins — simply delete Distill from your iPhone. There are no Distill accounts or servers that hold your data, so uninstalling the app removes it completely.

Where can I find the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use?

Both are linked below in the footer, and are also accessible from within the app in Settings.
